Az aquincumi polgárváros területén, több helyen is előkerültek a fény és a világosság istenének, Mithrasnak emelt szentélyek. A Symphorus Mithraeum a város déli fala mellett épült a Kr.u. 2. században, amelynek rekonstruált épülete a Múzeumok Éjszakáján kerül átadásra. A kultuszhely jelentőségét kiemeli az itt talált kultuszszobor művészeti értéke, amelyet egy állandó kiállítás nyomán, eredeti helyén tekinthetnek meg a látogatók.

The Night of the Museums
In the area of the Civil Town of Aquincum, there are a number of places where shrines raised for Mithras – the (ancient Roman) God of Light – were excavated. The Symphorus Mithraeum was erected next to the southern wall of the city in the 2nd century BC, and the delivery ceremony of its reconstructed building will coincide with the Night of the Museums. The significance of this place of worship is highlighted by the artistic value of the cult-statue found here, which can be visited as a permanent exhibition in its original place.
